Oh, I'm quite sure he wasn't thinking of that. I don't think an article about Jerry in the Wall Street Journal or whatever would have gotten into the song selections of Mother McCree's, LOL, unless it was one heck of a knowledgeable reporter.

But what a great link! I had no idea that the Mother McCree's songs were on YouTube ... lots of them! Fun.

Youtube is evil. (It tries to prevent me from earning a living.)

I had a Garcia album of children's songs years ago, I guess I lost it, but I seem to remember he did that song, "Ain't no bugs on me, might be bugs on some of you mugs but there ain't no bugs on me ..." I remember my little one singing that.

And currently being used in an anti-flea commercial for dogs...

The knowledge base here is incredible! Ask a music question and the answers flow! Can you imagine what we could do if we hadn't screwed up our minds with drugs!?

BD , is this the film you are in ?

I had no idea pop music had taken up this song - or at least the title . I was thinking more O Brother then MMan. Is this in public domain , as I can not find authorship ?

I'm not in it, just behind the scenes.

I believe the song you're thinking of us is in the public domain, but not sure

Love that scene.

BTW, T-Bone is credited for being the inspiration behind putting together Moonalice. That guy is everywhere....

From wikpedia (so it must be true!) re soundtrack listing:

"Didn't Leave Nobody but the Baby", arrangement by Alan Lomax, T-Bone Burnett and Gillian Welch; performed by Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss and Gillian Welch – 1:57
Since it says Alan Lomax, I'm assuming he picked up from the field recordings done for the Smithsonian. He and his dad were pioneering ethnomusicologists/field recorders -big inspiration for Mickey Hart's efforts.

Look for T-Bone to work on soundtrack for upcoming Kerouac film (in next year or two). I've already plugged this Kerouac film with Hunter (http://www.onefastmove.com/the_cast/) involved in upcoming event re same at Henry Miller Library on August 14th.

Very nice! I think I know that tree...not in a carnal way...just in a more general, knowledge way, I mean...

Time to shut up and stop typing now.

Good night Gracie.
